What is a Family Resource Center (FRC)?
The FRC helps provide assistance aimed at removing any non-academic barriers that your student and/or family may face during the course of your journey through school. The purpose of the FRC is to create a community partnership that is dedicated to helping students succeed in school by providing families with information and access to community services. The FRC is on-site at these schools in order to provide all children and their families enrolled at Veterans Park. The FRC Coordinator works at both Veterans Park Elementary and Brenda Cowan Elementary.

Weekend Food Bag Program
The FRC offers a weekly food bag program for students in need. If you would like to register your student, contact Mrs. Love at nicole.love@fayette.kyschools.us or via Class Dojo. Space & supplies are limited. Food bags are sent home with students on Fridays.
The Family Resource Center utilizes a council of community, staff and family members to facilitate decision making! All meetings are open to the public. If you would like to attend, please contact Mrs. Love at nicole.love@fayette.kyschools.us for the virtual meeting link. All meetings are held at 3:00 pm.

Cuts & Curls
Our district’s annual Cuts & Curls event is transforming into a year-round opportunity for students to receive free haircuts. We want all everyone to feel confident when they step on campus! Thanks to the generosity of community partners, Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) will offer a combined 200 vouchers a month for free haircuts and styles throughout the 2023-24 school year for use at various shops around Lexington.
