Kelly Gorbett was the Best Practices award recipient for Fayette County Public Schools at this week’s 2024 Kentucky Association for Psychology in the Schools (KAPS) conference. She has been a school psychologist for over 16 years and currently serves Veterans Park Elementary and the Fayette County Preschool Center. In addition, Gorbett supports colleagues in the areas of English Language Learning, autism, and more.
“I work with children and families through the evaluation process and provide academic, behavior, and social-emotional consultation with teachers and families,” she said.
Beyond her work in the K-12 setting, Gorbett has designed and taught undergraduate and graduate college courses, served on dissertation committees, worked at a local counseling center, and written two book chapters for a school safety textbook. She has been a Nationally Certified School Psychologist since 2006.
